Default 2012 GC - Removing Headlight Plug?

G'day guys I'm needing help as I'm frustrated beyond belief!

I'm trying to remove the headlight plug off the RH side headlight on my 2012 GC. It has a small red locking tab underneath (see pic) that I have slid back as far as I can. Can anyone tell from looking at the photo if that is far enough out? The plug will NOT budge! As you can see it's not covered in crap (only 25,000 k's). This has got me frustrated like I've never been before. A simple 30 second job has taken 2 hours so far...

Any help appreciated, before I through a hammer through a wall.....

No first hand experience removing that plug, have you tried some comparative engineering by having a crack at removing the other one?

Maybe try squeezing the little black tap mid way when looking at the second photo from underneath? It's just next to the large part of the locking tab.

The passenger side is a different set up with different plugs. They are a unique set up...

I've replaced the bulbs but never had to release the plug connector. Maybe try a little WD40 around the locking tab, jiggle/wiggle it a bit to make sure it travels as far as it's supposed to. Things get a bit dry around there even for low km's (did you say 25k km?? on a 2012? wow!!)
