Sounds the same. Worth a check though.

Will check the plug tomorrow but it sounds like the problem old bud was having was the keyless lock and unlock wasn't working at all rather then working on one side? Will still check out

The drivers door should unlock when you touch the inside of the handle (when you have the keyfob on you/in close proximity) and lock when you press the button on the outside of the handle. When I do the same with the passenger side all the doors unlock, my wife still thinks I'm being a gentleman by opening her door first!
Agreed.
Unless there's a fault at play, the passive lock/unlock of all doors works from both front doors if set up correctly in Uconnect. I never use the fob, stays in my pocket all the time.

Can confirm modern Subaru's are also like this. Touch to unlock the passenger door will unlock all of the doors but touching the drivers door only unlocks the drivers door by default. Can't remember if there is a programable option to change it though but it is annoying when you have passengers.
