I have read somewhere that fat chicks can't jump .....

Bigger tyres to get diff clearance then a moderate lift. Too high and you loose stability unless you can go nice and wide on the wheels, which we cant't really do out here. Thats my 2c

Dave,
Its good to see some one is being sensible on this thread.
On the stability question ~ A high center of gravity is much easier to keep straight. Some time try balancing a pencil upright on the end of your finger & then try a broom handle. The much taller broom handle is much more stable !!
Try explaining that !!!

Different physics.
The broom stick and pencil are 'stationary'. Balance and leverage are in play here. The longer stick has greater leverage, therefor greater control. The point of leverage being the top of the stick. More leverage means slower, more controlled inputs can be used.

Now, with a vehicle, we have motion, kinetic energy, weight, a centre of gravity that is not constant as the suspension cycles etc. There is a lot more to consider than just balancing a stick.

HTH..

BTW, I'm not a science nerd . Just the way I see it..

cheers

pencil is a lot lighter....... that example has many holes in it...... bruggz, i think you hit it on the head.....

high is ok if you can match it with width....... otherwise keep it low...........

You were not supposed to explain it. Should have just left it for the numnuts to think about !!

Low COG is IMO the best option but in reality its a compromise based on the terrain you drive...... if its deep ruts etc then you need the ground clearance so tires need to be bigger and JUST enough lift added to clear it all - sure it hurts COG, but at least your not stuck on the first speedbump outside the coffee shop.

After that... any increase in COG is heading backwards.
