If you find you are repeatedly pushing on-screen buttons to select something and nothing is happening, the trick is to use your fingernail to use the touch screen. I don't know why it's like that, but it's the only criticism I have about the VMS, everything else about it is great.

Does it use the steering wheel controls too? Also can you add off-road maps on it too?

Yes it uses the sterring wheel controls and you have the option of re-programming them to what ever you want.

Not sure about adding off road maps though. I use a VMS in mine so I've never bothered to find out.
