Red face Navigation Beeps (I think) and Cruise Control

Hi All,

I'm a newbie 1st time Jeep owner (Grand Cherokee Limited MY14, build date Dec 2013).

I've read all the manuals til I'm brain dead.... I keep getting 2 beeps/chimes (radio volume drops when beeps are heard). I cant find the cause anywhere in the manual.. no messages, no warnings just beeps. Service people at dealership have no idea, the vehicle has been scanned an no issues found.

The cruise control wont turn on at lower speeds? If you persist (5 times or so) it will but what a pain....

Perhaps someone more experienced than I could fill me in?

Many thanks in advance

Could be a speed warning, red light camera, tyre pressure monitor but if it's affecting your cruise control, I'd think it was related to power management at the engine or in the transmission and the cruise will disable to prevent you putting into autopilot. Have you been able to check it at the time it happens for any codes?

Thank you for the reply.

The 2 are unrelated. The beeps (definitely part of navigation system, only happens when maps is displayed).
Unfortunately I've worked out it none of them, my home street definitely has no nearby cameras and it even does it as i leave my driveway...

The cruise control issue is totally separate, I'm thinking it is possibly because the vehicle speed is too low (it wont allow set before 40kph), perhaps it doesnt like to be powered on below that speed either - it works perfectly at higher speeds....

I would doubt a cruise control would operate in any vehicle below 40kph, I've certainly not ever tested it at that speed. If your radio is dipping volume and navigation is on, I would pick speed zone warning, traffic camera warning, or on the off chance could it be a blind spot warning (is GC fitted with this feature?)

Any advice from other GC owners out there? I drive a Wrangler, so my beeps are overpowered by the screams of passengers as we drive up slippery rocky slopes and off shear rock faces

No blind spot monitoring in the limited Grand Cherokee (not mine anyway)

Also, has anyone else got a speed circle in their navigation but inside the red cirle is a white centre with a speed also written in white and hard to see?

Nothing wrong with your cruise control they won't engage under 40km, a bit of a pain because I would like to use the cruise control in school zones which are 40km here in the NT

Thanks.
I get that they wont actually engage (activate cruise control), but not being able to turn the thing on ready to use is disappointing.

I've had plenty of cars with cruise control, this is the 1st that wouldnt let me power the cruise control system on due to travelling speed (not use it, just turn it on ready to use)
