Default MY18 WK2 GC Air suspension rods

Hi all,

After 10 years of D3 and D4 ownership I find myself looking to the dark (or is that the light?) side for a new car. The D5 leaves me cold for both the looks and the price so I have my eye on a MY18 GC Trailhawk.

Like the Disco I understand that the GC is speed limited when in off road height (suspension will drop). With the Disco I had after market suspension rods that tricked the car into thinking it was in normal height mode when in fact is was in off road mode, allowing more realistic speeds to be used in soft sand. ie 50-60kmh.

Is there such a thing available for the GC?

Cheers.

Mark

Hi and welcome, there is a suspension over ride module available for the air suspension to travel at extra height and lows with no speed restriction.

On her maiden voyage I noticed my Trailhawk gave me a warning at 70kmh to lower speed to 60 or suspension would automatically drop. I don’t think I would want to be doing much higher speeds with full height anyway.

The module is called a LLAMS. It was originally made for Discovery, but the maker adapted it for the Jeep - mine was the first one.

It is a straight forward plug and play.

Just out of interest, what’s it worth?
If I read it right, it appears that higher speeds can be achieved with the Off Road 1 setting only? Which is fine but would be handy on some of those outback roads..

Here is the LLAMS thread:

The Disco one is $550 so I assume similar. Contact LLAMS direct...

Cheers

PS Mine worked with both Offroad 1 & 2 plus it could lower the car further.

PPS Read the text on here:

I am not saying the LLAMS is in any way deficient but the thing I like about the GOE rods is that they are low tech.
