Default Service Bulletin July 29 done

I just had the Service Bulletin 21-022-14 (July 29 2014) done yesterday - all fine, low range ok - till this morning after only 20 Km down the road......tried again to go into low range - 'service 4wd system' warning light again! Not even 24 hours!
Is it a matter of the service bulletin does not work or the job was not completed properly?

It could be a combination of both. However if there are any shortcuts at all there will be problems. The 29/7 update points this out clearly. As one of the guys said ,he put tape over the battery terminal as 29/7 TSB states lead must come off and battery charger connected.Dealer did not obviously do it correctly as tape hadn't been removed! Tell them you want a new FDCM fitted.

bjm,

I find it very hard to explain to the mechanics that they did something wrong - we only have two Jeep dealerships here in Canberra and they have you by the short and curly's and they know it.
I have a case number with Chrysler Aust. and dealing with them to fix this damn problem and yes I will ask for a new FDCM.
This is very frustrating and it is costing more and more to drive to the dealership to get it 'fixed'. Why cant Chrysler just admit they stuffed up?
Anyway - on with the battle and hopefully get a fix soon.
Question - if the latest service was done correctly...does it fix the problem?

If you read my previous posts on this problem its been a battle ,including letters of demand ,NCAT etc.Mine is still ok after (29/7 update) nearly 4 weeks and 150 cycles. .Keep a record of all out of pocket costs associated with this N23 debacle. Tell the dealer that you are not coming back and back for maybe fixes.like many of us have done. Ask for a loan car if need be. Make the dealer aware you know all about this problem here and US. If you get no satisfaction write a letter of demand to FC stating you want the problem fixed in 14 days or legal action will commence. Just remember it is FC who caused this problem they legally have to fix it.

There are several key points that Jeep specify in the bulletin.

*THE wiTECH SOFTWARE LEVEL MUST BE AT RELEASE 14.03 OR HIGHER TO
PERFORM THIS PROCEDURE.

*Install a battery charger to ensure battery voltage does not drop below 13.2 volts. Do not allow the charging voltage to climb above 13.5 volts during the
flash process.

*It may be possible for the FDCM to not power down if the wiTECH is
connected during the next step. Failure to disconnect the wiTECH diagnostic
scan tool may result in the inability to properly move DTC C140F from an
Active Code to a Stored Code
.**

Here is both bulletins, make sure they are following Version 21-022-14 REV. A ask for the bulletin number that they are using?

bjm if you are allowed is there a tribunal case number (not Jeep number) that could be quoted that lets CDF know we are aware of the case against them?
I know you cannot reveal all the proceedings

Clarky,
My next NCAT hearing is set down for 21st OCT in Grafton.NSW File no 14/30655 As stated the reason for the next hearing is hopefully to say that the update and new actuator is working ok. However in between now and then it can all go pear shaped.!! As you well know this problem can take weeks to reappear. The trouble is to have full confidence that low range in this vehicle will work when needed is still lacking!! I know the guys at Coffs Hbr Jeep have done their best. What we all need is for FC to issue a bulletin stating the problem is FIXED.Not the adhoq approach that has gone on for over a year.!!
