Cool TJ: Ian's rebuild

after blowing my 44, and not that happy with my current setup, i am doing a rebuild.

work is under way, old diffs are on the scap heep I started on the diff build but due to waiting for parts from the US, iam now doing the strech 1st

for the stretch i am using a genright comp tank, there is about 8 inchs more clearance than the stock tank.It looks very fancy.. I dont know if i want to get mud on it.

iam also using the genright rear corner guards and rock sliders from there 5 inch stetch kit.

the corner guards are made to take a 35 inch tyre so i am recutting them to suit a 37inch

after cutting, used a true 37inch cardboard template.

then i got stuck into the rear with my 4inch grinder.. thats always fun

I fitted up the corner guards and sliders.I am very happy with the quality of genrights stuff..its top stuff.

a few mor pic's
this is my old currie drive shaft and new stretch shaft.

also going to use these brackets to outbourd the rear shocks, I will cut and weld them into the frame. That will lift the rear upper shock mount up 4 inchs.

When finished it will be running hp44 front diff with high steer and a t&t truss, rear trused disc brake ford 9inch with triangulated long arm, arb front detroit rear lockers, 5.14 gears.
thats it for now, will update the diffs etc when i get all the parts in soon...

something like this?

Also are you going with a Triangulated rear 9" to loose the rear Panard....cause i don't think you can have one with a stretch kit due to the lack of space
