I know this really isn't the place but doing the wash down thing under the Jeep today I thought if using an exhaust jack under the WK you would really have to place it under the axle stub/suspension area, using a nice bit of carpet on top, as anywhere else would do some body damage, no chassis or solid axles so try to lift elsewhere would certainly bend stuff, squashed fuel tanks would not be pretty............. took for a run to Double Island Point today and certainly way better than my ZG or WG, I do like the 8 speed box but still had my strap/shackles and shovel in the back....... suppose I should put up a pic.............

Mopar rock rails (and maybe others) provide a convenient place for this kind of thing.

I haven't had a good look under mine either but I carry an exhaust jack purely to lift the rear wheels up if bogged in sand so the holes can be filled in.

I'd image a quick lift under the diff to get both wheels up wouldn't be an issue.

Mind you, I've never actually needed it. I only ever bogged the Wrangler once (my silly fault not the vehicles) and the recovery tracks had me out in a minute or two.

The trouble with rails and things for bag lifts is not a lot of surface area and the bags wrap around them...........
Plus a bonus pic on our way to our weekly picnic lunch at Double Island Point, mid week, no holidays only have to share it with 3 other vehicles.......not hundreds.

and in keeping with the thread What did I do well "I didn't get bogged", gave the bash plates a good test on a stump.

Well, bit the bullet and bought some new shoes for the Grand, ended up getting some 285/50/20, only 175 bucks each. I have been reading up a ton on tyres recently. I've had Westlake's on my old Hilux before and they were bullet proof, they held up to tons of abuse and the tyre dude agreed that they are 1 tough tyre. The 285's fill the guards nicely and seem to clear on all the air settings so far, time will tell I suppose

Just not a lover of 20" rims, 50's always scare me, just waiting for a pothole to eat the wheel.
