2 Timken Front Bearings $350 Aus delivered last of available stock for that US ebay seller. Not sure it was a great deal but what do you do..

I could have purchased a set last year and saved a fair bit but it is what it is.

Old thread but theres limited intel on this as far as I can tell.

Timken is definitely not the same as OEM any longer.

The speed sensor / hole is smaller than factory and they are made in China.

I've also got at least one faulty one (too loose) so i'd recommend sticking to OEM or similar.

My passenger side one went at around 120,000 km
Started by intermittently throwing up some lights on the display.
Thought it was just the sensor but ended up being the bearing going out.
Just went with OEM as they're not too bad a price over here in England after a little dealer discount, even including our 20% EU inspired sales tax.
Dont know why dealer parts appear to be so pricey in Australia.

'Because they can', I guess. Although that is becoming less rational with the way online shopping works now.

I've even had the parts guy at the stealership say he'd get the parts I was asking about online, when I said what the online shop was selling them for. And they were genuine parts as well.

The answer to the differing length sensor harness' is that the WK GC uses the same unit bearing, same part number. But they have a shorter harness. I broke my wire off flexing it up.

So i did some digging.

WK GC length is: 820mm long https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...15273&jsn=8828

JK is: 1264mm long https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...=8740&jsn=8740

I think that they might not know at the warehouse and keep them in the same bin location.

I use TIMKEN unit bearing from Rockauto and they have does about 30xxx kms on 35s and about 5000 on 37s with no issues.

Hope some of this helps

Also because you can buy some that are longer, so that they don't break when you have fitted a lift & front disconnects.

The longer ones I have are longer than JK standard.

Don't buy cheap no name brand bearings, you will be replacing them inside a year.
