Default Starter problem

Went to start it tonight got just the sound of the starter whizzing sounds like solenoid not engaging. Would it be just a starter replacement or Am i looking at new flexplate.

More than likely just a starter. If you take the starter off, clean the solenoid and reinstall you might be fine.
Or buy a new one, install it and then strip and clean the original and you have a spare.

If the motor is 'wizzing' that suggests it is turning which can only happen if the solenoid is working and fully engaged, as the starter motor's 'run' electrical contacts are on the back of the solenoid and only make electrical connection once the solenoid retracts into the engage position.
So it would suggest either your bendix drive or the ring gear are no good.
More than likely the bendix as the ring gear usual crashes and grinds for a while before it no longer works
