Default Need some advice on gearing

I'm going to be running 35s on my xj with 5 inch lift and lots of guard trimming

I run standard wheels during week as its a daily driver

On weekend when I go wheeling the 35s go on

I'm going to upgrade my axles at same time as the re gear

From what I've found on google most people run 4.56 gears for 35s how will they go on highway with 29s?

We talking 2500 rpm at 100 or heaps more?

My old falcon had 4.11 gears with a 4 speed did 2400 rpm at 100 and I drove it everyday so revs don't bother me too much

My jeep is on gas too

on 4.1s mine revs about 2300rpm on 29s; 235/75/15. That might help give you some indication. Outa couriosity what axles are you going to run.

i run 4.56on 33`s and find i have to accelerate down hills as the gearing retards momentum as soon as you take your foot off the gas , so im guessing you will not like that ratio on 29`s at all.

I run 4.56 in a 3speed tj with 35s and i find that gearing perfect, i think it would be painfull on road with 29s

4.11s might be a goer then

Running standard axles for now but I have tracked down a 4x4 explorer rear diff for 400

It's definetly an 8.8 think it might be 31 spline too

Be fitting that with some form of locker after I destroy the danna 35 lol
