Default 97 TJ transfer case linkage issues

I have a 97 TJ and the Z linkage (I think thats what is called) keeps disconnecting

The 4wd leaver just becomes loose and falls back to the 2wd position even when its in 4wd

I climbed under the jeep and the linkage is all bent and had to manually put back into 2wd

What solutions are there to fix this issue

Cost?
Hard to install ?

Any help would be appreciated

A suspension lift is OK as it does not change the hight between body a chassis. I had issues with my body lifted TJ that I bought as the previous owner did not properly alter the linkage setup after the body lift.

Sounds like you linkage could have gotten damaged while doing a bit of wheeling ? Maybe just get stock replacement part off a wrecker like http://www.jeeeprecycling.com.au/ind...icles%20...All

Cheers

I have ordered the Novak cable one as it seams to get the best reviews.

I would replace it with the original Z style but i think the cable system would be better in the long run with the extra mods I want to do (Bigger Lift, Body Lift)

Thanks for you advise and suggestions .

Did you fit a transfer case drop when fitting the suspension?
