I've been to 3 jambo's and all had their good and bad points. Its difficult to cater to all the different groups that turn up so its good to have an array of activities to suit all. In saying that there are a few things that I would recommend.
- Try and make sure trips are headed by good trip leaders who know what they are doing. This is a massive gripe that I've heard a few times from various people at the different jambo's I've attended. Some trip leaders are just douchebags and kill joys.
- A test course with various obstacles for everyone to have a play on, seemed to be a hit at the last jambo and the one in Melbourne. Massive boghole for people to attempt.
- An RC track for the kiddies, and big kiddies
- Standard show and shine is always good.
- Plenty of Jeep and Jambo merchandise.
- A lot of fire wood cause it gets crazy cold up there haha
I don't really think you can go too wrong with the Jambo. As long as the necessities are covered which they usually are it'll be a hit. The trip leaders are one thing that has stood out to me over the years though when chatting around the campfire after the day's wheeling. In saying that I had some really good leaders at my first Jambo on the central coast.
