Default Wiper washer tank re-location

Hi there,

I was trying to find some info here on the forum, regarding the relocation of the wiper water tank. I have mine still in place but constantly rip off the electric lines or even damage the water pump when I flex to much with my Jeep.

Some people from the US told me to get a ZJ or XJ water tank instead and mount it in the engine bay. However, these models are not so common in Australia (XJ more than ZJ, and then I would still to find a vendor or a junkyard to source it).

So, I wonder what others did here to overcome this issue.

Thanks
Joerg

I bought the cheapest generic one on eBay and it fitted perfectly where the charcoal canister was, it's a bit smaller but still quite usable, i used the bracket from the charcoal canister, the existing wiring reached easily and I actually cut a fair bit off the tubes because they go past there. The reservoir came with a pump on it, so I just drilled holes for the other pump and sensor. Works a treat!

Thanks a lot for the swift reply. I actually saw these containers on Ebay too, and I wonder if I should get it instead. how did you bypass the lines going into the charcoal canister? did you just use a rubber hose?

I blocked off the one on the intake with a rubber vacuum line cap you can get from Supercheap and just left the one from the fuel tank open to vent, you can see it just above the bottle in one of the pics.

I tried just connecting the line from the fuel tank straight to the intake, but it wouldn't start if it had been sitting for a while, I presume this was because the fumes made it run too rich.
