Was amazed at the weight of the those speakers, truly substantial units - no wonder they punch out some volume.
Yeah not all that surprised tweeters didn't work out, but how have you ended up without the matching woofers?

It's actually a real PITA anyway, the pods down below the dash are too small for pretty much everything, they're all made with an entire door area in mind, something like 50 litres and the pods are maybe 3. I've never really found a solution and have resigned to crossing mine over ridiculously high so they don't suffocate. Everything else is really easy, just not worth trying to do too much unless you can solve the pods.

That was the problem. The Alpines in the front are a woofer, - not a lot of midrange coming from them, so changing out just the jeep tweeters resulted in major loss of midrange frequencies and left that range up to the ones in the sound bar. This resulted in a really unbalanced sound where the sound bar was dominating most of the time, but the Focal tweeters (that are very efficient i.e. loud), overtook the highs in the front. This all resulted in a truly awful sound. Now I have the Kenwood unit, it has so many processes that you can take advantage of, I've been able to tune it to the point where it now sounds quite outstanding. Given the volume that stock Alpine amps pump out with very little distortion and minimal coloration at high levels, it's the best stock system (except for head unit) I've heard to date.
