Sounds terrifying, but I'm not against the idea. Nor am I against some elbow grease - I've just never done paint work before so not sure where to start haha

I wouldna thought you'd need to long of a range down there in Tassie as the roads are generally twisty and narrow compared to regional areas up this way.
Mine light up for around 300-400m but very wide and find them very nice to drive with, I used to use aircraft landing lights which gave considerably more distance but were very sensitive to changes in the road, go over a slight rise and the road became dark due to the lights pointing up in the sky....

Hey Hamsteh,
that looks like the trim was ripped off and just painted over.
I don't know that stripper would remove old glue etc. I would be inclined to hit it with a stripper disc,
and under coat and top coat. Sanding between coats.
That's a rather simplified explanation. But you get the idea....
cheers

Hey bruggz, yeah I recently ripped off the rubber trim but the paint was like that underneath already. I think it was white out of the factory and a previous owned (DeWalt) had a pretty cheap paint job done to cover that fact haha
That disc stripper disc seems like the perfect tool, plus an excuse to buy a grinder Really appreciate the advice

The old glue/double sided tape can be stripped off with a Caramel Wheel. I got one from an auto paint supplier. Fit it to a power drill and go to town! As for the paint, yeah the stripper disc Bruggz mentioned looks the deal.... I might have to get me one of them too!

Might grab a 100mm grinder and a stripper disc from Bunnings and give that a shot, should only set me back $75 or so - and I've always wanted a grinder haha
Looks like it strips damned fast though... if I get to bare metal am I gonna make myself a heap more work?
