It won't apply to me because my car was manufactured in 1995. But I feel for anyone who is affected by this crap.

My TJ Wrangler is the most unpractical car I have ever owned. It lacks the finer finishes of my old Triton and the way some things are finished from the factory are quite crude.
All that said, for reasons I can not explain to people, I love the thing. Mine is definitely staying and does a moderate amount of 4wheeling.
Mine is on stock suspension with 31 BF’s, an ARB bull bar with a winch and spotties and that’s about it.
I’ll eventually lift it a couple of inches and have a lightbar to fit across the windscreen when I get round to it.

I'm thinking of getting a 2005 or thereabouts TJ as a purely fishing vehicle. Because I tend to camp out for a couple of days, I plan to remove the rear and front passenger seat and fit a mattress to sleep on.

My daily driver is a Cherokee Trailhawk and all seats lie down flat and I use it to camp and fish but would feel better using an older car.

Any ideas or feedback?

If I had to have a TJ, it would be purely for the same purpose. Prediction: it will be around for a long time if you hose the salt off it regularly - presumably like your fishing reels.

Long term plans..
well Id like to rhino line both the tub and the hard top. Im thinking supercharger but who knows.. its all just a dream atm anyway.
I also have a spare tj which I plan to turn into a camper trailer but also a storage device for my assorted doors and tops dependant on my needs at that time. Possibly cut it at the cowl and throw in as much glamper gear options as possible haha.
