Default air intake - becoming a water intake - help!!!!

are you sure it is not a loose connection letting air/water in some where else?
I have been through mud and water more than 10 cm deep when i forgot-i know i am a dickhead-that i didnt have the air funnel thing on, anyway no water got into the engine but there was a lot of mud splashing and marks INSIDE the air box, thankfully on the good side of the filter.

anyway best of luck solving the problem

well on the weekend i saw a mate hit the puddle and nearly get bogged as he sunk so i hit it a little faster than him in his rutts and still sank and lost all momenteum. due to me going a little fast there was splah in the engine bay but not so much that it completely soaked the filter. lucky i had my k&n in my boot otherwise i would have been stuck in the middle of boat harbour with a dripping air filter.

If you are thinking of just rerouting the standard intake - this guy plumped the trumpet back through the firewall to draw air from the cowl in front of the windscreen,

Text but pics are dead

Have a K & N on a shortened intake above the dizzy, recently put an old cotton sock over the K&N to act as a precleaner, knotted the toe end so as not to flop around.

Verdict: keeps the dust from getting into the K&N (oil still clean) and protects from water splashes.

Cost: know idea, and old sox
