It does not have anything to do with the fuel, its the design, Same on the JK which also suffer this problem. The rocker covers crank case breather pipe goes into the intake system, this sucks in oil, mix it with rubber hoses and the oil will eat the rubber hoses away. Which leads to splitting..
Poor design its as simple as that
