Default Congo Cage

Wanted to do some camping without the boat so I needed a roof rack. Since I hate the hard top I needed something that worked with the soft top. The Congo cage seemed like the deal. After installing it and putting a small aircraft carrier deck on the roof I went for a drive. The sound was deafening and it resonated through the hole car. In short it was horrable. I did some research on wind deflectors and I got some mixed feedback. I got a hold of a bit of PVC pipe and cut a slice out of it. I bolted it onto the top bar and went for a drive. Amazingly the wind noise has completly gone and it has less noise with the rack on over having it off with the soft top.
A bit of black paint to blend it in and its working well. I have some side rails comming next week. Try it out this weekend with camp gear.

Yes, it can get a little loud with the congo on. How did you secure the wind deflector to the rack I can't quite make it out from the picture. Looks like a fairly simple solution. Good stuff.

No pics at the moment, but I got some slush mats for the front & back from Quadratec, along with some Rugged Ridge front seat vests and today, my Trektop arrived. Will probably go on this weekend, forecast is for 25-27C.

Now if I can just figure out what I have to do to fix the shimmy I get when I hit a bump at ~80-110, I'll be set! (After the DBOR order for whatever it is gets approved by the financial controller! )

Just fashioned some metal into a c clip and I lined it with rubber. This snugged the bar and it pulled in as I tensioned it with spring washers. Its holding well with no slip from the wind pressure.

How did you go with the right hand front bracket and the snorkel? Did you need to modify it to fit.
