Default Dana 35, possible rebuild? Lots of little things...

Hey all. Am having a few issues with my rear end (heh) on the jeep (95 sport with LSD), I get a knock on deceleration, a lot of grumbling from the rear end, leaking out of the diff cover and lots of fluid leaking from the pinion Seal (where the driveshaft goes into the diff, I think that's it's name??)

What would be my best course of action? At this point I'm prepared to take it to get done at a shop...

Pop the cover and check for damage.
That will most help determine your best course of action.

I thinks it's just seals and the wheel bearings that have blown out... The LSD works great still (went up everything the other day whilst wheeling) and just pisses out fluid from the pinion seal, makes a grumbling from the back left...

when i got mine, the seller included a rear diff "repair"..he showed me several D35 centres awaiting rebuild, and said the issue is the diff side bearings get worn and noisy on ALL high mileage XJ... so he had a diff rebuild kit, which did not include lsd plates, checked mine and reckoned they were ok.

I think our D35 have a pinion crush sleeve, which can be a problem, have replaced leaky pinion seals in the past, mark & count the turns to undo pinion nut, use a small slide hammer with self-tap screws to pull seal, worked good

I had to get new wheel bearings and the idiot person who called themselves a mechanic at the time told me my axels were toast $900 posted up here from jeep wreckers in hervey bay then after all that he put the wrong oil in I even left the Haynes in the car 100 ks later smell noise no lasting damage but it cost me a bit for a noisy diff slight whine

AWG, did you know how much it'd have cost to get the bearing a seal kit done? Sounds like whats happened...

Should I just buy another D35 and rebuild it myself or get mine fixed by a mechanic? I dont want the jeep in pieces in my garage for another 2 weeks lol.
