Turbo takes Smoko
Here's a weird one...
On the way to work Monday (about a 30-minute drive) my turbo was working normally for the first 10 minutes. Then I noticed a lack of power, no noise through the snorkel and the boost gauge (via Torque App) stayed below 0.2 bar - essentially no boost. Ten minutes later and it was back to normal. It's been fine since.
I assume this is a problem with the control solenoid or a mechanical jam in the vanes. Has anybody had anything similar?

No MIL. No DTC. Just no boost.
It's only done it the once.

Bad VNT control solenoid? Bad VNT actuator?
Try to move the VNT nozzle arm by hand and see if it moves freely.
Next disconnect the VNT actuator, suck on the line and see if the nozzle arm moves. If it does, I would suspect the solenoid.
If you disabled the EGR, you can use it's solenoid in place the the VNT solenoid.

Everything seems to be fine now. This is the worst kind of problem - the intermittent one. Until next time it happens, I'm snookered.

Glad you found a likely cause. I checked my vacuum hose. All good.
Mine still has not missed a beat since last Monday. I can only figure that it had an attack of Monday-itus.
