Default WK2 Second Camera Input

Hi there
For those that tow caravans and would like to add an additional camera at the rear of the van and view while on the run here are your only options.

1. Buy a new radio RHP and a lockpick from ( mygigs.eu ) Australian contact Paul Scofield 0418265155. This will cost $2,310.00 with navigation. It will unlock all the functions and allow to fit several cameras to view even whilst driving and still listen to music. To update the navigation at a later date I am informed it is done by the dealer (cost involved). LOCKPICKS FROM THE STATES WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY ON THE AUSTRALIAN RADIOS. Our model RB2 is not compatable with the overseas lockpicks. (pick yourself off the floor now).

2. Buy a after market rearvision monitor, attach it to the factory rearvision mirror and connect additional cameras (1 on the rear of the van and maybe one at the front of the Jeep for parking and select which one you want at the time. Remember to wire direct to battery with fuse because of the bus wiring system.

3. Don't bother.

I did fit a camera to my new van and wired it up via a switch on the dash direct to the factory camera wiring so when reversing the van I can view the image but only when in reverse (can bus wiring). The camera is aimed down facing the ground with the rear bar of the van viewed.
So there you have it. Spend lots of money or forget it. If you chose to upgrade for an after market radio with all the gear remember it will not be able to be connected to the steering wheel controls.

Good luck with your choice.

Bugger David,
You've put in heaps of research and it looked like you might just get there.......
Much appreciated for your time and effort and the fact you have posted the results.
It might be a standalone screen and van camera for us - maybe best to keep away from the Jeep brain anyway.
All the best
John
