Default Sat nav

New member with a new Grand Cherokee Laredo. Unfortunately Laredo doesn't come with the sat nav on the uconnect like the Limited. Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good sat nav/GPS?

Well you can buy an aftermarket stereo/gps unit on eBay or from dealer that's a direct fit and good quality... Search and you'll find plenty.

Don,t waste your time. There is no interface for the steering wheel controls and connecting your factory rear camera would be a problem due to the can bus wiring you would most likely have to activate it with a separate switch. For the price of updating GPS maps every few years you can but a Tom Tom or similar with deals of updates. Something to think about. I recall several others over several posts in other forums that they tend to complain about the GPS in built in units as they are generally out of date to start with and expensive to update.

Just get a Garmin one that sticks on the windscreen from Dick Smith or similar. About $150 - $200 with lifetime updates.

I have it on the bottom right hand side near the A pillar, and in my opinion is much better than in the dash. Much easier to read without taking eyes off the road, plus allows you to see a more accurate speed, also without needing to drop your eyes to the speedo - just like head up display. I know that doesn't sound much, but once you get into the habbit you find it hard to revert to reading the speedo.

I choose Garmin as that's the brand they use on planes, so if it's good enough for their navigation, its good enough for me.
