Driven on beaches in Victoria, South Australia, and Queensland in my auto 2014 JKUR and haven't had an issue at all.

To be honest 99% of the time I'm at 12-16 psi and in 4hi, I've never actually needed 4lo in sand as momentum is the key and high range offers that in spades.

I agree 4hi in the 3.6 auto works well.
Low range does turn off some of the traction aids which are a nuisance when all wheels are spinning.
I used 4hi and crazy nuts mod accross the french line. Sub 20 psi pressures are the key to sand.

I was on Stockton on the weekend, I just run in high all the time as it's hard to get any wheel speed in low when you need it in the Rubi. The only really thing mine required (and I added years ago prior to a Fraser visit) was a transmission cooler so you can run in high all day on the sand safely.

Cheers
Steve

factory 4.10 diffs, I run 5psi in my 35in tyres in sand. I think I have used low range 2 times when trying to recover someone. Otherewise its hi 4 all the time.

I run a esc kill switch and have zero issues in an 3.6 auto jkur

You can also turn off the TC/ESP completely in 4Hi (on my MY15) by holding the ESP off button for 10 seconds or so until you hear the ding and I think the ESP light flashes for a few seconds too.

IMHO the 3.73 ratio in my Sport doesn't really make it easier to drive on the beach because the 4.11 ratio's extra torque is not very noticeable at low to medium RPM in 3rd and 4th and I'm never racing up the beach anyway.
