Smile Shitbox Rally - need help and parts!

Hi there

My name is Rachel

Each year I do something called the “Shitbox Rally” to raise funds for the Cancer Council. Info can be found on www.shitboxrally.com.au (as well as some great photos), but the basic idea is that you buy a car that has to cost under $1000 including rego (hence the term Shitbox!!), and we drive them across crazy routes in the name of the Cancer Council.

2010 was Sydney to Alice Springs (through the Oodnadatta track) 17 cars raised $107,000. (Done in a Rover SD1)

2011 was Brisbane to Darwin (Via the Savannah Way) 109 cars raised $680,000. (Done in a 96 Honda Prelude)

2012 it is Melbourne to Cairns, with an aim of raising $1million !!! And this year, our media crew tell us that we also have 2 TV channels trying to get the rights to televise it and do a mini series on it (Ten and ABC).

The basic rules, apart from the cars cost, is that you have to raise $4000 in donations for the Cancer Council to be allowed entry. Then you are free to decorate your car as you wish, get as much publicity as you can for it, and have fun doing it. At the end of the rally, the car is auctioned off, and the proceeds go to the Cancer Council too.

For the 2012 rally i have bought a 1996 jeep Cherokee XJ. Yes its a little battered around the edges and the paint has seen better days, but it runs well.

We are hoping to use it as a bit of a support vehicle on the rally as well, helping push/pull those that need it, Run as a lead car in the dark providing light and a clear path against wildlife and Kangaroos etc.

I am currently looking for any wrecker/ enthusiast / generous person that would like to source cheaply / donate the following for it that could help along the way:

1. Bullbar / nudge bar
2.Spotlights
3. Winch
4. Towball (it has a Hayman Reece set up, but they took out the towball part and lost it)

Is this something anyone thinks they might be able to help with? We would be eternally grateful, and if its a business that donates we will happily place your logo on our car for some publicity!

We are located in Sans Souci NSW

Thank you for reading this and hopefully considering to help us on a worthy cause!
