I’ve got my eye on a Laredo set for $400. Would be great to have spare rims and tyres to swap when an off-roading weekend comes around!

No issues, up to 50k, it doesn't get driven much during the week.

I go to Fraser, straddie and double island point a bit. Handles it well, but the suspension does bounce around a lot more than my old cruiser did.

I am no fan of Hiluxes but this is simply untrue, they are constantly getting in my way off road getting stuck and generally being annoying but with mild modifications they are more capable than a WK2 Grand Cherokee (any spec) with mild modifications off-road.

A Grand Cherokee with basic modifications will get you to 99% of places you'd want to go and will be fine for your standard blast down the beach, up the dunes at Stockton, to marked campsites etc.
