Default Trans Problems

I've got a 97 XJ that has recently stopped locking the torque convertor. It started doing intermittently, but now it's only locking it when cold until you back off or brake. I haven't finished checking, but where is the best place to purchase the TCC solenoid, I have looked at Rock Auto but the prices seem a little over the top even if you get a set of solenoids.

RA only set ones that I wouldn't use regardless. I would go to a trans repair place and order a set of good quality ones.

check the tension adjustment on the throttle body cable before you shell out for parts , mine did this a year ago and it wasn't adjusted correctly

Check TPS (throttle position sensor). TC should not engage when you brake. Brake pedal application disengages TC. Check brake switch.

TV cable is adjusted correctly.
TPS is approximately 5000km old, but tests ok.
When the vehicle is cold, it locks the TCC but then first brake application, it disengages as it should but wont engage again until it's cold again. Trans fluid has 10,000km on it. It's 120km to the nearest trans repairer, that's why I was chasing somewhere that I can get it sent to me.
