Rant time...
Thought I might change from a 15" to 17" on account of weight so I'm weighing tyres & wheels in the hope of reducing more unsprung weight!
I have a longarm kit with cheese cutters 33x10 on my TJ which makes a huge difference, getting closer to the feel (with respect to bumps) of the more refined JK with 285/75R16 on road, off road though, nother story, JK will still eat bumps better from what I've seen even after all the upgrades, soft springs, adjustable shocks long arm, skinny tyres, etc. sniff sniff
It's interesting if not strange how the 16 and 17 inch alternative to the old 15 in a 33" are heavier! That does my head in - how can a tyre that's similar in height with less sidewall be heavier? It's gotta be the thickness, compound density or the extra with?
