Default WJ V8 MAP Sensor

Hi, All

My vehicle is showing a code that the MAP sensor is in need of attention.

The vehicle has stalled a few times - and of course the total loss of power steer as well!! - runs rough and seems to have been sucking the petrol.

Is the MAP sensor a typical/regular problem for this model? Is it easy to swap with a new one?? Can I do it myself??

Any advice would be appreciated.

Regards

Ray

Not really a common fault. Id check the plug to make sure its clean ,dry and making good connection.
Easy enough to replace if you need to.
Also check throttle body orifice isnt blocked.

When it stalled, could you start it right back up? Or did you have to wait a while?

MAP
Crankshaft sensor
Cam sensor

..are all connected to the same line of voltage, apparently.

Edit: It is located below the alternator, you can see it when you lift the bonnet.

Thumbs down Map??

Yes, started again after a few seconds, but losing power steer when going around a tight corner, is no fun

The manifold air temp sensor is under the alt, the pressure sensor is in the throttle body.
