Uphill gradient sensor, Transmission control module
I have been chasing some drive-ability issues with my 2005 WH CRD. The vehicle feels under powered and slow to accelerate. The transmission always seems to be a gear too high when pulling away.
I have an advanced scan tool with Chrysler specific support installed.
I have been checking some parameters and have discovered that there is hill gradient sensor that seems to be indicating incorrectly. On flat ground in my garage the sensor reading is -32%, if I park nose up on my drive way which is pretty steep I can get the sensor to read -29%.
Does anybody know where this sensor would be located?
My interpretation of this is that the ECU/TCM thinks the car is mostly in a nose down/downhill state therefore selecting a higher gear.
The other parameter that I am able to monitor on through the TCM is the ESP engine torque request. With the vehicle in drive or park with engine running the the ESP is requesting -70Nm torque from the engine.
Could this be part of the poor acceleration problems that I am having and could it be due to the incorrect hill gradient that is being recorded?
