Default 2.7 CRD CV driveshaft alignment?

Hello.

I put a new chain on the 247 transfer case last week, I marked rear driveshaft position relative to yoke, but forgot to do it on the front driveshaft.

The car vibes a bit, but honestly it has always vibed since I bought the car. Anyway i would like to know how to align it properly without knowing the original position and hopefuly fix some vibrations. I see the driveshaft has a couple of weights welded along the shaft.

Thanks

Does the shaft have CV joints or uni joints? I have had problems with vibe from a front shaft that was uni joints on both ends. In my case it was down to the slip joint being worn and allowing excessive side ways movement. Also it may be worth checking that the uni joints are in perfect condition, not easy to tell sometimes unless you pull them a part (been caught like that before as well). Of course make sure that the uni yokes are in line on the shaft.
So did you notice any reduction in drive line slack after the new chain was put in??? How many Kilometres had the tranfer done?

I have rzeppa driveshafts both front and rear.

The transfer yoke looks like that, the diff yoke is round with no protruding metal:

The car has 360k km, I changed the chain because I thought it would fix a subtle rattle noise/vibe I have when accelerating around 2000rpm, specially when going uphill.

It didn't fix it, the chain was a bit stretched but not much. It seems to have fixed harsh downshifts when hard braking from 100km/h to 0.

Others have had problems with the CV/rzeppa joint on the transfer end after the suspension has been lifted from standard height. Mostly they have fixed this by useing a drive shaft with double cardan joint on the transfer case end.
