Default Jeep 2.7 crd Engine Mounts

Ok any info on how to replace engine mounts on a Wj/Wg 2.7 crd ? I have the new bushes, just wish to know on any tips or tricks to remove the brackets & re-install new ones, in particular what to expect.

Expect lots of bolts in inaccessible places. If you have a mechanic with arms like a 6-year old, get him/her to help. It's a painful job, although relatively simple.

My 10 tonne press was not enough to change the bushes. I took the mounts to my local Fulcrum workshop to get the pressing done.

Take note of the orientation of the mounts. Take pictures.

Next issue, with the engine lifted a little by the new mounts, the transfer case clashed with the bash guard. I had put a spacer under the rear mount.

On the passenger side I think it's accessible from underneath, so not much to take out from there.
On the driver's side it's accessible from above after removing a few things but nothing major.

Don't put the transmission in Park and rely on that, it will twist the engine and make disassembly far more difficult.

The best/easiest/coolest option for pressing in new bushings is to heat the bushing "holder" in an oven up to 150*C and then the bushing will just slide in

Your passenger side is the right, correct?

I adjusted my post for RHD vehicles, although the steering shaft might be a bigger problem on the driver's side.

The intake manifold side mount isn't too bad to replace it still isn't an easy job by any stretch of the imagination though.

The exhaust manifold side will require the removal of the exhaust to remove the bolt that goes through the centre of the mount, Getting the catalytic converter off the back of the turbo can be a little bit of fun to extricate it out of its hole. I cut my exhaust before the flex joint and added a flange to join the two pipes back together, made the job a lot easier.

Both sides there are a couple of brackets between the mount and the intake manifold or the mount and the turbo housing. You'll need to make sure these are removed first before trying to pull the mount bracket off the block.

Tackle the job methodically, if in doubt outsource it to someone else.
