Default Any sympathy for my not-a-jeep that the universe keeps trying to destroy?

So our family adventure wagon is a 2009 patrol, with not much over 100k on it, barely run in (disclaimer - not making any comments about capabilities of patrols vs jeeps, the patrol came first and it's the one with all the crap bolted onto it), and kept in pretty good condition (for a camping/beach car).
Late last year we got pounded by the hail storm in Toormina, dimpled every surface on the car, smashed both tail lights, insurance wrote it off (that's how I got my jeep), but we kept it because it's still the same car, just with more character.
Then, just a couple of weeks ago in some nasty weather, two roof tiles came off my neighbour's roof (still tarped over from the hail storm while they battle with their insurance), and BOTH OF THE F*#%KING THINGS landed on my patrol!

What the hell does the universe have against my poor patrol??? He only ever brought joy to my family!

First pic is after hail storm, other 2 are after roof tiles. I'm in touch with their roofing contractor and he's already replaced the glass out of his pocket, was talking to him the other day and he says his insurance company is being an insurance company about it. So I'll give it a little while and then look into options.

Do you have issues with Karma? Or does Karma have issues with you?

How did you keep the car after it was written off? Are you allowed to drive it? Insure it?

Funny about the roof tiles. I got up into my roof crawl space to c where some leaking was coming from (an old a/c unit left in the ceiling when I had new system installed yrs ago... the a/c fluid leaked from a pipe with an open end) and looking round I found that only every 6th tile was tied down with wire much of which was now rusted.... so maybe if the wind blows in the right direction one might fly off and total my jeepJ KU which would not necessarily be a bad thing since the write off would pay more than what I could get selling it.

There's an exemption for hail write-offs, might just be a NSW thing, where it doesn't get deregistered and you can just keep on driving it. The only insurance I can get is third party property. Haven't really shopped around, but my insurer, who I have no problems with, won't give me any more cover than that.

As far as karma, it does often feel like I'm on the bottom end of the scale, but it's all relative I guess. I have arms and legs that work and despite looking like a junker he's still got it where it counts - I guess that could describe me or the patrol!

The damage appears to be only skin deep, even with the roof tiles.

You probably would not worry about scratches and dings on it when going off road now.

Some nasty damage mate!
We had an almighty hail storm here last year 10's of thousands of cars written off, luckily my Jeep got repaired.
Still waiting on our pergola to be fixed though, smashed to pieces!
Lucky you got to keep the pootrol, are you even able to insure it now? Lots of people here that bought their car back or have bought them from Pickles can't insure them

That's one silver lining! If I can save enough pennies I might raptor coat the whole thing one day...

Third party property only. Couldn't even get fire and theft from my insurer.
