well...I'm just a little bit disappointed by the Jeep's previous owner and the idiot of mechanic that had done a check on the car before I bought it...

so far, my pressure hose from the steering box is leaking badly, underneath the radiator...and the rear diff is a DANA44, which has at least the pinion outer bearing busted, and oil seal as well - everything is splashed with diff oil underneath...
when I removed the rear main axle, the yoke and pinion nu were so loose that I removed them by bare hand...more to this, there was no backlash at all, in the diff, but the transfer case has a lot - like I can turn the axle almost 2inches of freeplay...

I didn't removed the fuel tank, so I didn't remove the rear diff cover as well, to have a look around inside, but without the wheels and main axle, the diff didn't had any sounds or roughness when turning, so hopefully there is no damage in gears...will see.

the front diff, which is a DANA30, looks ok so far, but I'll service it as well. the bad part is that the Jeep s my daily comute, and can't affford to have it off the wheels for more than a weekend...

one other thing I've noticed is about the suspension: I have aftermarket tie rods, made of some plastic shit... so I reckon that someone got around it after tearing down some offroad tracks around...

The idiot - because ain't no mechanic, when I did a inspection to the Jeep before buying it, told me that, beside the harmonic balancer pulley which is a little cracked, and the starter motor which may die at anytime (that really happened just a couple of weeks away after I bought it), nothing was wrong and all looked good... F..king w...ker probably didn't had a look at the car properly, or just took some beer money from the owner while I wasn't there to say that all's good...

Anyway, can't go back now, so this means just more spending and wasted time until I can get it out on the sand 'n mud...
