Default Wrangler unlimited Petrol vs diesel

Hey,

Thinking about getting an unlimited petrol, but my mechanic thinks they are underpowered with the 6 cylinder engine. What does everyone think?

If it is underpowered, what can be done to beef it up a bit.

Cheers,

James

Put a Hemi V8 or Chev engine in it.

Seriously...WTF is underpowered??? I so couldnt drift the rice burners, bro...she is underpowered bro!

Its a 4WD...try driving a 2litre hilux before you cry about being underpowered.

Seriously sick of these pathetic threads.....what do you want a 4wd for...4wdriving?? well no it is not underpowered and no JK is. If you want to have a crack at the quarter mile....then choose a different car.

I dont think they are underpowered by any means. In the low range stuff they are good but nowhere as good as the diesel. On road it has ample get up and go.

Compared to most other 4bies they are ok. Small tricks like getting the shift points in the transmission changes, appropriate gearing, induction changes etc all make for better power. Also dont use the overdrive in city traffic on the auto.

Saying that the Unlimited petrol trounced the pesky 2dr oil burners at Crusier park

I'd rather have my CRD JK than a rice burner any day even if it has the Italian motor.
