Well, I mounted the gauge in front of the little stick.
I got all the brass fittings from our local ag/tractor joint. $13 all up. Just have to install it now.

Ok, thanks guys, so that doesn't seem too hard then. Are you guys putting the sensor in the outlet or return line? And a standard oil temp gauge is fine, yeah? I'm assuming i don't need a specialist trans temp gauge?

I mounted mine in the sump as I was wanting to see the Oil Temp before it gets sucked in by the Tranny pump. This is the most critical measurement as after the pump sucks it in the oil it is then used in the Tranny under pressure inwhich heat is generated. Oil Temp before and after the Trans Cooler will only tell you how efficient the Cooler is or should be. Not the whole system running efficiency.
