Well, its been a few years since we have featured an Australian Jeep Jamboree, so it's great to be able to showcase the 2015 Jeep Jamboree this issue. The Sydney Jeep Club was the host club this year which makes it two in a row for them as they also held the last Jamboree in 2012. Well done guys and I hope our readers enjoy the coverage. Let's hope there are not too many years before our next Aussie Jambo.
There were certainly some great looking models of Jeep on show at the Jamboree. It is great to see people out using and enjoying their Jeep vehicles. The classic Jeeps (pre-Chrysler models) are dwindling, but it was great to see those that did attend.
Part of the adventure of attending a Jeep Jamboree is the preparation of Jeeps and the actual trip to the event. I was kept up to date with many, long term Jeep builds in the lead up to Jambo and it was great to see them finished and attending. Then there is the journey to Jambo. The further away you live, the more travel plans are needed. Convoys are organised and overnight camps are a good idea to break up the trip. Some lucky Jeepers even work the trip into an extended one and venture on to more four wheel driving locations or holiday destinations.
So Jeep Jamboree isn't just the weekend event, but a gradual build up to the event and then the extended time involved in attending, which means more Jeep time in our life, which is just fine.
Enjoy your November/December issue.
