Default Division of Grand Cherokee section by model?

Hi guys

Been spending a lot of time on here lately, as you may have noticed...

Just wondering on whether there are other forum regulars who feel it would be most helpful for the majority of Grand Cherokee owners to divide the section into individual models?

Eg ZG, WG, WK, WK2?

Reason I bring this up is that I would probably spend more time in a ZG section, given the parts shared with XJ than say WK or WK2, and I have definitely seen the WK2 gain popularity and I'm sure they would likely be less interested in older models.

Yay or nay? Thoughts?

While at first it sounds great, many a WH driver started off in a ZG or WG etc and while all are lumped together that source of knowledge can be easily shared, whereas if split up posts won't be seen.

I agree with drover as many of us also owned or still own a previous model and can share knowledge if we see a relevant post, otherwise it'll be missed.

I also agree with darksidecustoms. I've been following all the WK (US WK2) posts and from what I can gather (with probably only one exception) that all the WK drivers are new to the brand and have never driven or owned a previous model of the Grand. But just wait a bit, till little things start giving way or failing, they'll be able to benefit from the general knowledge base of all Grand owners.

I like the idea of all models to be separate but fear that a lot would be missed. Also, proper separation for AJOR (as we are AUS) would be ZG, WG/WJ, WH and WK (unless you'd wanna include the WK and WK2 with forward slashes after WH and WK).

I was just thinking about this the other day. There are separate sections for XJ, KJ, & KK cherokees, and TJ, JK wranglers so why not the Grand?. I know up to WK the forum is quite established but why not just split off the WK like the KK was split off from the KJ forum after a while. Just a thought.
Cheers Dave.

I'm not entirely certain and am a newbie but have a preference to seperation.

This is one of the reasons I do not hang out here much, as most of the posts are for the older JGC's. I vote for segregation of the models so that people wanting to read about their model can easily find the info, not have to trawl through the countless "Grand Cherokee" threads without mention of the model being discussed.
