No I haven’t. Would that make the AC have a mind of its own though? Engaging when it likes and the AC light illuminating when I change the blower speed?

Seems like the easiest fix so far though.

I had that happen in a older car of mine because the compressor had a low gas pressure actuated cutout/failsafe and the gas was at to the pressure threshold.

With the more computer-controlled JK and the seeming randomness when you change the fan speed, it sounds more like an electrical problem to me though.

Low gas pressure would cause it to cycle more often when running, but the problem here seems to be that it is powering on without the button being hit. Low pressure won't start the compressor when the A/C is turned off.

That's definitely an electrical/electronics fault in the wiring or computer control. Either from spurious signals triggering it, or the computer sending incorrect output commands.

I have it booked in to get regassed on Friday, and he said he will check all the electrics to see if anything is amiss.

I’ll post up if anything changes. Hopefully this fixes it, it seems to be the cheapest fix.

Sorry for the delay. I got it back from the auto electricians and all it was was low refrigerant. All the electrics are fine.

Thankfully it was an easy fix. Thanks for the input.

Well, that's bizarre, unless I totally misunderstood what was happening. Which is always possible...
