Has anyone with this stall problem tried moving the nlid of the IP to adjust the idle speed?
When I replaced the seal on the lid, I had a little trouble with stalling & my initial adjustment made the idle too fast. A little fine adjustment & I got it right. No stalling, low rev hunting or idle too fast.

vux had a go if you look back around page 3 of this thread. Not quite sure that I'm brave enough.

Interesting, were your stalling symptoms the same as what has been described here? i.e. after releasing the accelerator when doing 2000-2500 rpm.

Replace the IP electronic guvernour., In time.ip wears and does tinny metall pieces inside it, metal pieces are atracted.by gouvernour magnet and stick to it , damage it and cause cout-out of engine.

Oil will prevent this wear by lubricating pump.

well my diesel has been towed 3 times in the last three weeks, thought the issue was a fuel thing so I put in a new filter separator, and a new fuel line down to the IP, she started up and ran for a few days, then would'nt start at all this arvo, tried priming but no luck, towed to a work shop.
I'll have to wait and see what they say,

I have a wreck out the back that has a fuel pump on it, maybe if the workshop has no luck I'll have a go at swapping the pumps, where can i find the procedure for pump swap out?

wondering if you have had any success with this issue and/or what the IP specialist said?

My issue still persists and I have had what could be somewhat described as potentially "dangerous" encounters with this issues, especially when driving at high speed on the freeway.

I have written to Jeep about this issue with a link to this thread (as multiple XJ owners are experiencing the exact same issue) and will post back what they come back with
Hi,

sorry for disappearing. I have a refurbished HDK unit for the IP sitting on my desk for months now, but I haven't changed yet. As I researched it looks for me that it shall be enough to change only the HDK unit, not the entire IP. But unfortunately I could not do it yet, so it is not sure.
