From memory I posted the solution to the issue as well. A top up did the trick for me. I never had the same issue again. I hope you didn't put up with this for 140k ks....

Default ATF+4 substitute fluid

Measuring the fluid level whilst idling in neutral did the trick.

The level is lower in neutral than in park mode. A decent top up of ATF fixed the issue.


.....when filling the fluid the transmission should be in neutral (not sure if idling is critical).

Just a slightly off topic post.. I found a supplier in Melbourne of Mopar ATF+4 Fluid.. 4 litre container.. $75.....

Anyone heard of or used "Chief Mohican" oil? Sold at super cheap and claims to suit Chrysler ATF +4.
