I'm aware of that but it's just a peace of mind thing when I see specific label stating ATF+4 and nothing else, because if something goes wrong due to the fluid, Nulon will not replace the transmission and getting almost 12L for just under $140, can't complain.

In the history of Jeep since owned by Chrysler this has to be the most talked about subject with all the myths and misunderstanding that goes with it.

-----
"ATF+4" is a registered trademark of Chrysler.
In Australia the only product available that carries the registered trademark of "ATF+4" is the Mopar product.
"ATF 4+" is not the same thing.
Neither Nulon nor Penrite make a product that is "ATF+4".
-----
My own experience (my 2c worth).
The 722.6 Mercedes auto transmission that is used in Chrysler vehicles (2005 on) include Jeep Commander, Grand Cherokee, Wrangler, 300C, Dodge etc etc has been used since the late 90s in Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, Ssangyong. The Mercedes-Benz spec (depending upon year) is ATF Specification 236.14.

There are products available that meet the MB spec of 236.14
Lubrimaxx make such a product, plenty of MB repairers have been using it for years with no issue.

The comment about not using the Mopar ATF+4 will make your transmission leak is just rubbish. Not cleaning the pan, mating face, using a cheap sealant, using the useless gasket WILL make it leak though.

I'm sure there are many examples of people using other brands with success and the world as we know it didnt come to an end. But I have had numerous Jeeps come to me over the years with valve and solenoid faults right after the owner did a service and topped up with the Penrite product.

People seem to think its taboo to mix engine oil but seem quite happy to do a service on their auto box and mix 4 n a bit of some other brand of fluid with the Mopar ATF+4.

Myself I only use the Mopar ATF+4 on my customers vehicles as it costs me $50 for the 3.75lt (or whatever size it is), the customer is paying for it, why would I bother to mess around??? to save what?? $20, $30, $40 a auto service??? thats got to be stupid. When any of the oil companies put a warranty on their product to replace a Chrysler auto transmission that goes pear shaped, I'll use it.

As for the rest of the drivetrain there are plenty of far better products from Castrol, Lubrimaxx and other to use.

Regards
Daz

Yep, that's what I bought and actually those smaller 1qt bottles are better, easier to handle when pouring.
