Fuel Reserve
For the last couple of fills of my JKU I've waited until the light comes on and the trip computer says low fuel before filling up. Each time I've managed to squeeze in about 70L.
This suggests that there is a 15 litre 'reserve' which seems quite high to me- effectively it leaves me with about 100km of fuel
Anyone had a similar experience?

I prefer to fill up when it gets under a quarter just in case there's crap at the bottom of the tank or something which could stuff up the pump/clog the filter..
Would rather b safer then sorry

Sounds similar to mine. The light comes when the DTE gets down to roughly 50km (the exact amount depends on your fuel consumption) and even when I've had to run it almost to the 50km I've never gotten more than 75l in. Means you can probably expect at least 100km after DTE switches to low fuel in an emergency.
With such a long shallow tank I'd expect it doesn't pay to run it that low too often though as the fuel sloshing around the bottom of the tank will no doubt dredge up whatever gunk is in there.

Yep, me too.
Typically, when I have run it down for the light to come on & then done what I need to do until I can get it filled, I get ~75-80 into it. Once managed just over 82L when I though it might shut down before I got to the servo! (That was right to the top, not to the first click as well!)

On a recent road trip, with my family on board, we struck a vicious headwind for 200km, 49 degree ambient temp, and had no choice but to travel on the fuel light for 95km with a consumption around 17l/100km. When we made it to the fuel station, we put 78.32L in. I would prefer never to meet a situation like that again.

According to my OBD manual, there should be 15l left in the tank when the light comes on to ensure accuracy of the system.. something about maintaining fuel pressure around bends, etc.
Most vehicles operate with this excess emptiness.

Here I was thinking the jku has a 79L tank, am I wrong? If I fill mine just as the light comes on I only get in about 60L or so.
