Check out the fan on a KJ. 17" and looks mean. I don't know the current draw, whether it will fit or the cuft/min. I've been driving mine around all week but I haven't heard it go yet.

fixed the "no parking lights"...was a fuse..I find it quicker to just check every single fuse with a test light than search the manual/user guide, which is very confusing...was the 3rd last one, took 10min max

the 2 jeeps have had more blown fuse issues than I seen on any other vehicle

had to rescue the red xj 99 today out of fuel the father in law got a new fuel pump fitted and the gauge didn't move from 3/4 back to the mechanics tomorrow get it sorted out sadly he sold the xj to the "car Killer!" around the corner (9 cars in 7 years) he just drives the wheels off them 600k round trip to go for lunch because he is bored dragging his old mum along.............. Landrover Discovery towing a caravan at 100kph on a dirt road over a cattle grid and he wonders why the front driveshaft popped out!!! lots of stories there he got $3800 but its a shame to see a good xj get flogged.............

my mate used to do a lot of his kms on rutted dirt, drove his Hilux hard
The local suburban mechanic could not believe how quick he wore out suspension bushes etc..~10 times quicker than "city" cars

I have been working on my XJ for some time getting it just the way I want. Just about finished and took it for a drive. It drove really well. All my lift and suspension work was working well.
As I was driving it I noticed I had lost the tach and speedo. I thought too that the fuel gauge was telling me lies.
I searched the interweb looking for answers and came up with a few. I checked the earths at the plugs behind the cluster and they were good. made good contact with the pins. checked more earths and all was good. At times the fuel gauge would read when I turned the car on but would soon fall to zero after a few seconds. The speedo and tach were dead. I have checked every fuse in the car and swapped every relay. I tried a different gauge cluster and all is the same.
I walked away from it today and returned later to have another look. I now find my stereo stays on after the car is turned off. I removed it and then noticed that there was a buzzing noise coming from the steering column when the key was removed. I had bumped the wiper switch on but it was like it was trying to power itself on while the car was off.
I have run my OBD scanner through it and I get a tach reading. A fault saying fuel sender voltage high. That fault code keeps coming back even after I clear it.
Any suggestions are welcome....anything.... I'm desperate.

my first guess is some shit wiring, not a happy situation to trace, that would be burned/touching wiring or switch.

I would start by pulling fuses systematically, that *may* help isolate it

tugging at harnesses is next, but best to narrow it down a bit first

after that cry in beer, study the electrical section of the FSM, dismantle shit and looked for burned things, substitute wires, switches etc etc
