I walked away from it today and returned later to have another look. I now find my stereo stays on after the car is turned off. I had bumped the wiper switch on but it was like it was trying to power itself on while the car was off.
I have run my OBD scanner through it and I get a tach reading. A fault saying fuel sender voltage high. That fault code keeps coming back even after I clear it.
Any suggestions are welcome....anything.... I'm desperate.

my first guess is some shit wiring, not a happy situation to trace, that would be burned/touching wiring or switch.
I would start by pulling fuses systematically, that *may* help isolate it
tugging at harnesses is next, but best to narrow it down a bit first
after that cry in beer, study the electrical section of the FSM, dismantle shit and looked for burned things, substitute wires, switches etc etc
