Default Lift kit is in

Hi all,

I just had the 3" Iron Rock Off-road lift kit installed.

It went in really easily without any cutting or mucking around.

I was a bit sceptical about their claim that " this is the kit that the car always should have had etc.." But for once I was pleasantly surprised by the result, the car does drive better and the " wallowy" suspension is gone with the ride being much firmer.

I had a bit of a play over Easter at Mt Mee - until the radiator exploded - see the other thread! and it works really nicely off-road as well and the additional clearance meant that I did not get "hung up" on obstacles that I previously had trouble with.

I went for the Doetsch shocks with the integrated bump stops

I'm running 265 - 75 tyres without any problems

Attached are a couple of photos

Looks great Bill. What was the cost of shipping if I may ask. Looking at getting it myself.

Actually in my case nothing.

Fortunately IRO had a special at Christmas time where they were offering freight free anywhere in the Continental US and we had a container at work coming out of Milwaukee that I was able to stick the shipment in so I got lucky

Regards

Bill

Did you get the A-Arm spacer?

I have the same kit, and very quickly your rear bushes will be shagged if you don't get the spacer. The angle puts a lot of pressure on them.

Great kit off-road!

Any problems with Death Wobble yet?

No A-Arm spacer as when I spoke to them they did not think I needed it at 3".

No Death wobble, in fact I had a bit of it before with the 1" kit and now it's gone.

I drive on the Freeway every day at 80, 90 & 100km to and from work, have towed the Camper at various speeds from 50 - 110km all with no wobble whatsoever.

Yep - they told me I didn't need one as well but it didn't take long for the bushes to get shagged, and then the rear felt like a wet sponge, especially towing.

Have a look underneath and if they seem to be getting crushed just sitting stationary due to the angle, then I'd suggest getting one. If they seem to have no extra pressure at one point on them then hopefully all good.

Glad you are one of the lucky ones with DW. I had to get drop boxes to ensure it was corrected.
