In the instance of male Torx fasteners on the vehicle, I am somewhat unfamiliar and confused..I know metric 12 point spanners seem to fit, but are there "correct" tools (female Torx) that should/need be purchased?

for bonus points, the temp sender at LH head rear, what is the thread?
would it be 1/8" NPT (a common standard size, even on metric cars??)
only time i have needed the female torx is removing the tranny from the block. its not until you see proper female torx working that u realise how $hit 12 point sockets are for male torx heads. - got a whole set of them from Bunnings.
T60 is the biggest i have used on my heap , from ebay. Suggest you remove the oil pressure sender before fvk'n with that torx bolt.
fyi if you want to remove the pegs that the front sway bar attaches to, don't b fooled buy the large torx recession the head, you bash it out with a hammer- its splined not threaded.
i think it is 1/8npt, but you order the temp sender as per application, so it just fits. Also all the threads into the block are imperial. the fasteners on the accessories are metric. FUN!

Oil Filter Adapter.

Use two 12mm ring spanners, with a cheater bar slid over both of them, on the torx bit - after you knock it out of the socket drive.

I used one from a Fragram branded set.

Some of the single bits available - are only 10mm spanner size. I got mine from Fred Tappings for a few bucks each ... in case I needed to weld up a "special" tool for the job.

Got mine off with a socket, thankfully.
Replaced the torx crap with bolts, during install.

As a youth, had longish blonde hair, instead of cat mange, got well soaked in ATF once, for about 1month afterwards, the hair was all bouncy & fluffy like a supermodel

thx for all the good info on Torx an what to with them.

small leak on adaptor housing o-rings, probably not even bad enough to warrant fixing
