Land Rovers can be another option. I have one as well as my Jeep. The Jappers think both of them are crap but I reckon both are excellent.

I like Land Rovers, have owned two so far. I'm thinking a MB G Wagen might be a viable option as it is a nice simple solid axle layout, just a bit on the expensive side at the moment.

Have always had a soft spot for Landys, my old SIII would go anywhere, so long as you weren't in a hurry.

Love the summary you have prepared.

For the transmission, this is a really good reference

Hi Drover

Could you consider including this link in the Online Parts section

http://www.sprinterparts.net/index.html

It allows you to put in the Jeep part number (or MB) and comes back with the item. I haven't bought from them but the prices appear ok, not sure about the shipping cost. Would appear to be another option to http://www.wholesalemopar.com

Cheers
