Yes, there are g-force sensors in the body, also used to deploy the airbags. Also is able to sense based on speed and steering wheel angle what the sideways gforce should be and if the vehicle slides this will reduce the gforce and activate the ESC system decreasing power and applying brakes to the (I think) inner rear wheel mostly.
Sladey - any error codes coming up? I would take a stab at a wheel speed sensor error from either mud and crap in the rear wheels stuffing up the sensor reading or an issue with the cabling to one of the sensors

rear abs codes showing up on the diagnostic
i was getting some front end work done at dbor and they took a real quick look at this issue as well, bill is leaning towards abs lines being damaged as part one of the issue, from being pulled this way or that after the last mob of useless nitwits (my term, not his)*cough* poly4x4 *cough*, did the lift but did not loosen off everything, allowing things to be pulled almost to breaking point under full droop.
Not that the droop is that impressive because they put oem length shocks on a 3-4 inch lift, but i digress, i'm jacking it up on the weekend and going to get all the mud still hiding in and around everything cleared away, see what i can see. at least if i cant fix it and it goes back to dbor it will be clean, im sure they were getting tired of sweeping dirt off the floor  damned bog holes

Unplug your rear sensors & check the resistance, if they are open circuit you will need a new sensor,sensors are only $35 new from your jeep dealer & are easy to replace

ABS and ESP error

I have to replace a FL wheel speed sensor on JK Rubi. I went to local dealer, told him what I wanted and he ordered it. When it arrived, the cable was too short and hence part didn't fit. Queried this with the parts dude next time I was there, he says that side specific WSS aren't made anymore, and one part fits both sides?
Is this correct? If it is, how then do you fit the passenger sensor if the cable is too sort (by a lot - 20-30cm)?

yea that's a bit odd, he was not talking about the rears was he? they are the same as they have no long cable to worry about
with the fronts it seems silly that they made them a soldered unit rather than being able to detach the loom at the end of the WPS, silly
thanks though coz in a totally vein moment I worked out by typing "front wheel position sensor jeep jk" into google that my video on the subject is first in the search results (sh!t as it is), only its wrong because I'm talking about the rears, derp derp

Hi all,
I recently had all four lights come on after applying the brakes firmly to avoid another vehical. The 4WD Service light went out about 5 seconds later but the others remained. The Jeep seemed to run OK for the remainder of the trip. I turned the ignition off and then back on and the lights were gone. This now seemes to happen every time I apply the brakes with some force.
I scanned it to see if any codes came up and got these
U0414-Invalid Data Received From 4WD Clutch Control Module
U0402-Invalid Data Received From TCM
C2111-Sensor Supply Voltage Circuit Low
C140A-Transfer Case Motor Performance
All forums I've read relating to these lights suggest wheel alignment issues or faulty/dirty wheel sensors. To me, the codes don't seem to relate to either these.
I will change the sensors on the weekend and the have a wheel alignment done after that if the sensors don't do the trick. Will keep you posted on the progress.
If anyone can give me some advice, i would greatly appriciate it.
